Pipe connections

Our ELPA welding processes, both for track and pipe connections, are the best solution for making electrical connections from copper cable to steel. The pipe connections are generally dedicated to cathodic protection of the pipe against abrasive agents that cause deterioration of the conduit.

The ELPA TUBE connection is capable of ensuring low electrical resistivity and high mechanical resistance in the connection, all without affecting the steel of the pipe, avoiding exceeding the maximum melting temperature of 450 ºC.

ELPA TUBE aluminothermic welding equipment is portable and can be handled by a single person, allowing it to be used in any type of installation, however inaccessible it may be.

Our R+D+I team has developed a KIT that meets the needs of electrical installers who need to make connections in installations such as gas pipelines, refineries, electrical substations…etc.

ELPA is a system that enables the possibility of making single-use portable connections through the use of our specially designed ceramic mould to avoid high temperature transmissions from the welding process to the rail.

Our ELPA Aluminium Thermal Welding KIT consists of:

• Ceramic mould* incorporating steel plate, cable entry bushing, sealing disc, cap and spring clip.
• Aluminothermic powder cartridge and ignition for soldering
• Flux dosage
• User’s guide

*The ELPA mould enables the use of spark ignition or remote ignition via LsVIP.
